December Theme: Reflect & Celebrate

Advent • JOY • “How Are You?”

Where Is Joy Taking Root for You?

As Advent continues, Holy Covenant turns toward JOY — not as constant happiness or forced cheer, but as a quiet, sustaining presence that renews the soul.

This month of Reflect & Celebrate continues to ask a gentle, honest question:
How are you… really?

Scripture reminds us that joy is both gift and strength:

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)

A Consistory Check-In from Terry Raley-Dennis

Advent • JOY • “Where Is Joy Taking Root?”

This week we asked our Consistory leaders:
“Where is joy taking root for you this season?”

This time of year always gives me joy because I get to spend time with my family in Michigan. This year is also special because we have welcomed two new great-grand babies into our families, and Jean and I get to spend some precious time with them. I look for the small things to find joy in. That is what renews my soul.

Terry Raley-Dennis, Consistory President

We ask you the same question:
Where is joy taking root in your life — even if it feels small?

A Question for Your Advent Heart

As you move through this Advent season, pause and notice:
What small joy is renewing you?

A moment with loved ones?
A memory?
A quiet breath?
Joy often grows in small, faithful places.

Together this December, we continue to

Reflect & Celebrate
the gifts of hope, peace, joy, and love.
