Joy Decker brings both heart and clarity to her role as leader of the Communications Ministry Team and as an elder on Holy Covenant’s Consistory. A longtime member with a deep love for clear, purpose-driven messaging, Joy helps ensure that our stories of justice, welcome, and spiritual growth are shared faithfully and boldly. Her thoughtful approach, listening spirit, and technical fluency — shaped in part by her background as a systems analyst and Air Force veteran — make her a steady and visionary presence in our ministry of communication.

📣 A Ministry of Message and Mission

At Holy Covenant UCC, we believe our voice is part of our witness. The Communications Ministry Team amplifies that voice — across platforms, messages, and moments — so that the love, justice, and radical welcome we practice reaches hearts both near and far.

This ministry is grounded in clarity, creativity, and connection. Whether designing a graphic, crafting a news post, updating our website, or engaging on social media, the team ensures that our message is true to our mission and beautifully aligned with who we are as an Open and Affirming congregation.

💡 What the Communications Team Does

Maintains and updates the Holy Covenant website to reflect current ministries and events
Creates, edits, and distributes weekly “The Loop” digital newsletter
Designs and manages church signage, visuals, and branded materials
Develops graphics, videos, and creative content for social media
Supports communication strategies for events, campaigns, and outreach
Partners with ministry teams to ensure consistent messaging across the board
Plans and delivers content on our Social Media platforms
Manages our Change Approval Team which oversees website content additions, changes and enhancements.
