Behind every open door and blooming garden is a team dedicated to the care and continuity of Holy Covenant’s physical home.
David Shimberg brings a wealth of leadership and operational experience to Holy Covenant’s Buildings & Grounds Ministry Team. A retired Certified Business Continuity Professional (MBCI, CBCP), David spent his career designing and testing systems to ensure stability in times of disruption — a skillset that now helps keep our campus safe, functional, and future-ready. He was active member of the South Park Lions Club and a Past District Governor with Lions International, reflecting his lifelong commitment to service and community care. With a practical eye and a servant’s heart, David leads with both precision and compassion.
Married to Pam, a retired social worker, for over 54 years, the Shimbergs have 2 sons, both are first responders in Charlotte and Mint Hill.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” – 1 Peter 4:10
Our Buildings and Grounds Ministry Team ensures that the physical home of Holy Covenant reflects the sacredness of the community it serves. From trimming trees and planting flowers to plumbing fixes and sanctuary upkeep, this team lovingly tends our campus with intention, diligence, and faith-filled stewardship.
Led by David Shimberg, a retired business continuity professional and dedicated community volunteer, the team combines practical skill with deep purpose — helping maintain not just our facility, but the spirit of welcome and care within it.
Whether you’re skilled with a wrench, shovel, or just a willing spirit — you’re invited to join the team or participate in a workday. Your time and energy make our sacred space stronger!
