⚖️ Advocating for Racial Justice, Equity, and Inclusion through Faith, Action, and Community at Holy Covenant United Church of Christ
Meg Houlihan brings her dedication to justice and community to Holy Covenant UCC, where she serves on the Racial Justice & Equity Team. A licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, Meg’s professional focus includes depression, anxiety, and relationship dynamics. Her holistic and compassionate approach to mental health informs her ministry, where she strives to build a culture of empathy and belonging.
Meg shares, “I appreciate the diversity of people’s experiences and am deeply curious about their views.” That curiosity shapes her leadership, helping the team create spaces where honest dialogue, active listening, and intersectional awareness guide the work of equity and healing.
“Learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.” – Isaiah 1:17
The Racial Justice and Equity Ministry Team at Holy Covenant United Church of Christ is dedicated to building a church and community where every person is valued, heard, and loved — across every race, ethnicity, and lived experience.
Grounded in our faith and driven by the gospel call to justice and reconciliation, this ministry seeks to dismantle systems of oppression through education, conversation, and collective action. With the rallying cry to “Rise Together,” the team invites all to join in the sacred work of healing and transformation.
Our team engages the congregation and wider community through:
Whether you’re just beginning your journey of awareness or have long been an advocate, there’s a place for you on this team. Join us in the sacred work of making Holy Covenant — and the world around us — more just, more loving, and more whole.
“Movement of Love” is a song by Rev. Tracy Howe created for “Join the Movement,” a project that celebrates Juneteenth with Racial Justice Ministries. The song is based on reflections by Velda Love and Sharon Fennema and uses a story-based strategy for social change.
The movement aims to create systems and practices that shape reality, emphasizing the power of stories to both reflect and transform our understanding of the world.
