📝 When the Walls Shake — Pastor Chris Invites Us to Read Along

Rev. Chris Czarnicki has launched a Substack blog — a digital space for spiritual reflection, justice-centered commentary, and pastoral presence. In just a week, he’s already shared three powerful posts, and in his latest, “When the Walls Shake: Faithful Resistance,” he reflects on Isaiah, Gaza, and the courage to respond with sacred compassion.

What is Substack?
It’s a platform where writers publish posts you can read online or receive directly in your inbox. You can subscribe for free, and there’s an option to leave comments and engage with the wider community.

We’re grateful that Pastor Chris is bringing his prophetic voice to this broader digital conversation — and we hope you’ll subscribe, read all three posts, and share them with those who long for faith-rooted insight.

As always, you can count on us to share each new blog entry right here in HCUCC Everywhere, alongside sermon highlights and Sunday worship resources.

🌟 Read & Subscribe on Substack

Let’s lift up Pastor Chris’s voice — and continue living our bold faith, everywhere. 🕊️

A New Chapter Begins — Launching Our New Website!

Sunday, June 29th marks more than just a page on the calendar — it marks a page turned in our church’s story. As Holy Covenant celebrates 25 years as an Open and Affirming congregation, we’re launching our brand-new website to reflect the bold love, prophetic witness, and radically inclusive spirit that defines who we are.

This new digital home — hosted on the United Church of Christ’s national platform — brings us closer to our denomination while showcasing the heart of Holy Covenant: worship that inspires, ministries that act, and a community that welcomes all, without exception.

✨ What You’ll Find on the New Site

  • A clean, mobile-friendly design that’s accessible and easy to navigate
  • Dynamic worship and sermon pages, updated weekly with video, photos, and reflections
  • Live event listings and opportunities to act for justice
  • Ministry highlights and a growing archive of Read. Reflect. Renew. book posts
  • A new “HCUCC Everywhere” hub to stay connected near and far

And yes — we’ve kept the joy, color, and soul that make Holy Covenant feel like home.

💬 Why It Matters
This site is more than just a tech upgrade — it’s a spiritual statement. In a world that often builds walls, we are building pathways. Our online presence is now a true extension of our covenant: to be a church that welcomes the stranger, uplifts the oppressed, and proclaims God’s unconditional love in word, deed, and design.

🗓️ Mark Your Calendar
We’ll officially go live on Sunday, June 29, 2025. At that time, our existing domain,
holycovenantucc.org, will redirect to the new site. No action is needed — just come explore, share, and celebrate!

🎉 Let’s Celebrate Together
We’ll mark the launch during worship on June 29 and throughout July as part of our 25th anniversary as an Open and Affirming congregation. Join us as we give thanks for where we’ve been — and boldly embrace what’s ahead.

🌈 Celebrating 25 Years of Open and Affirming!

On Sunday, June 29th, Holy Covenant will joyfully celebrate the 25th anniversary of becoming an Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation — a bold milestone in our church’s ongoing witness to extravagant welcome, inclusion, and love. This celebration will coincide with the official launch of our new website, an online space that reflects who we are: a faith community rooted in justice, love, courage, and compassion.

To mark the occasion, we’re inviting members and friends of Holy Covenant to share what ONA has meant to you. 🎥 Submit a video message between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. Share your story, your gratitude, or your hopes for the future. All are welcome! You can record with your smartphone or computer. Let’s celebrate the radical welcome that defines who we are — and honor the beautiful, brave journey that brought us here. 🌈

Banking on Faith and Justice: A New Partnership with Generations United Federal Credit Union at Holy Covenant UCC

We’re excited to share that the United Church of Christ now has its very own federal credit union—Generations United Federal Credit Union (GUFCU)—born out of our denomination’s deep commitment to economic justice.

First envisioned by the wider church in 2017 as a response to predatory lending practices and financial inequities, GUFCU was created to offer ethical, accessible, and values-driven financial services for UCC members, clergy, lay staff, and congregants.

Through GUFCU, you can access:

  • Lower interest rates on loans compared to most banks
