In recent years, Christian nationalism has become one of the most dangerous forces shaping American politics, law, and culture. It is a movement that claims to defend faith—but in reality, it weaponizes religion for political power and control.
It is time to have an honest conversation about what Christian nationalism really is, the harm it causes, and how we can resist it.

“Repentance is not a performance of sorrow, but a commitment to repair. It is the holy work of truth-telling, of returning to the place where love is possible, and choosing to begin again.”

I am writing this article from New York City as I engage with CSW, the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. The annual Commission is the world’s largest conference on women and meets to address widespread inequalities, violence, and discrimination against women. “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the refusal to let fear have the final word. It is standing up when the world tells you to sit down, speaking out when silence is expected, and choosing justice when convenience beckons. God does not call us to a faith that is passive, but one that moves, acts, and risks. To live into the gospel is to disrupt systems that harm and to build communities that heal. The Spirit walks with us, strengthening our voices and steadying our hands. Do not be afraid to do what love requires.”
– Rev. Dr. Emilie Townes

I am thrilled to share some exciting news, our church is in the process of launching a newly redesigned website, thanks to a generous donation we received earlier this year! Our Communications Team has been hard at work leading this project, ensuring that our new website is not only visually appealing but also more accessible, user-friendly, and reflective of our vibrant and welcoming community.
The redesigned website will feature clearer navigation, updated content, and a fresh look that embodies our mission of radical inclusivity and love. Whether you’re a longtime member or someone seeking a progressive Christian community, our website will make it easier than ever to find worship service details, more about who we are, explore upcoming events, and connect with the many ministries and outreach efforts that make Holy Covenant such a special place.

Holy Covenant,
If someone were to ask you “How is your well-being?” what would you say? I’m not asking because it’s
a nice thing for a pastor to do, but because I believe the answer to that question is something to be
explored. You see, since I arrived, I’ve learned Holy Covenant has been faced with many changes.
Changes that have pushed it to stretch and grow, and others it has had to find ways to work together to
survive. Some of these changes include:
