The Michael G. Brooks Scholarship Fund supports the educational and spiritual growth of our youth ā honoring a commitment to learning, service, and faithful leadership.
Scholarship funds of up to approximately $2,000 will be considered annually for all applicants. High school seniors and college students pursuing higher education are encouraged to apply.

Juneteenth, observed each year on June 19, is a day of remembrance, resistance, and celebration. It marks the end of slavery in the United States ā and honors the continuing struggle for Black liberation and equity in our communities.

The practice of banning books has been at an all-time high. Last year, the American Library Associationās Office for Intellectual Freedom reported more than 4,000 unique titles were challenged in public libraries and schools ā the most since the office began tracking censorship efforts.
Earlier this week, a violent and antisemitic attack took place in Boulder, Colorado. A man entered a peaceful event organized by members of a local Jewish community in support of hostages still being held in Gaza. And in the aftermath six people were injured, including a Holocaust survivor. This attack is the third in a recent string of violent acts against Jewish people in just the past two months.

We are excited to announce that this coming Pentecost Sunday, June 8, Rev. Melissa McQueen-Simmons will be preaching at Holy Covenant UCC!
Rev. Melissa is a creative, an empath, an author, mystic, and Iraqi veteran. She currently serves as Spiritual Director and virtual pastor of Wholy Ground Spiritual Center and is ordained in the United Church of Christ. A member of Holy Covenant, she also serves on our Racial Justice & Equity Ministry Team and is a trained facilitator for Our Whole Lives: Lifespan Sexuality Education.
Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, Melissa is a first-generation college graduate who earned her Master of Divinity from Howard University School of Divinity. She is deeply committed to building healthy relationships with self, others, and the Divine ā and brings a spirit of compassion and prophetic vision to all she does.
This Sunday, sheāll be sharing a powerful Pentecost message rooted in Spirit, justice, and hope for our time. You wonāt want to miss this inspiring service!
